Finalizing the report

I got information collected for my Web 2.0 elearning YouTube videos. Now am am working on my report. I am writing my report I noticed how people answered some of the rewiew questions with the same answers and had a hard time relizing the diffrence between skills and knowledge in action mapping. To learn more about action mapping please watch the YouTube video serise at the link below.

Flow chart 11-28-2015

Video 1: Introduction

Action Mapping is an instructional design process created by Cathy Moore, this video series will introduce four key components to Action Mapping, but first we will introduce the main goal of Action Mapping.

Action mapping is a streamlined process to design training in the corporate world.
The main goal of Action Mapping is to help instructional designers:

·      Commit to measurably improving the performance of the business
·      Identify the best solution to the performance problem
·      When training is necessary, create challenging simulations, not informational presentations

The basis of Action Mapping is to identify why people aren’t taking the necessary actions, for each action decide what is inhibiting performance, these actions are:

·      Knowledge
·      Skills
·      Motivation
·      Environment

The next video will introduce these actions in more detail; click the annotation on the screen to continue.  (pause for 15 seconds for learner to continue to next video)

Video 2: Knowledge

Knowledge can be a problem when the learner is doesn’t know information such as proper procedures, facts, etc.

Example: ****

Video 3: Skills

Skills can be a problem when the learner is unable to preform a task this can often be attributed to a knowledge deficiency, but is not always the case.

Example:****

Video 4: Motivation

Motivation is a problem when the learner lacks the drive and ambition to work hard and preform to the best of their ability.
Example: ****

Video 5: Environment

The environment cannot be fixed by training. Environment related problems include but are not limited to lack of equipment, poor management.

Example: ****

Starting the Activity

I am starting to create an outline for how I want my activity to be set up. I am going to create 6 videos total that will be linked in a sequential order, this will ensure that all the videos have been visited. It will start with an introductory video followed by four videos about Cathy Moore's Action Mapping. Then it will conclude with a conclusion video. The learner will be able to add comments throughout the to add to the discussion. The learner will be able to self assess themselves then questions are asked throughout the video, they may pause the video to come to a conclusion.

Final Project Proposal

I want to use YouTube as a means of facilitating information to the learners. I will do this by creating a series of YouTube videos that the learner can use for a self-directed learning experience. The training will consist of a video to introduce the topic then give the learner the option to decide which video they want to watch next using on screen annotations, then the learner can decide which one to watch next until they have watched all the videos. There may also be parts of the video where the learner can pause the video to think about the question or scenario proposed in the video. In this training series I will introduce part of Cathy Moore's Action Mapping technique, which identifies different actions that may cause one to consider training, these actions are Knowledge, Skills, Motivation, and Environment. Once the learner has viewed all the videos in the first portion of the series they will then walch a conclusion video which they will read/ listen scenarios where they will determine if a workplace problem is Knowledge, Skill, Motivation, or Environment related. The purpose of this training is to give the learner another perspective when creating training and how they can relate an action to a measurable goal.
